City Council Advocacy
Breaking BEARriers club founders decided to take action and give speeches in both the Pleasanton and Dublin City Councils with the results being the ban of all vaping products and electronic cigarettes.
Project Face Shields
Breaking BEARriers club founders made more than 3,000 face shields for doctors and nurses on the frontline all over the Bay Area and to places beyond such as Guatemala to combat the growing COVID-19 pandemic.
Breaking BEARriers Webinars
Breaking BEARriers hosted a series of webinars where guest speakers came a shared their experiences about various topics such as the transition to college, non-academic skills, and COVID-19.
Destination Imagination Information Webinar
Breaking BEARriers hosted a Destination Imagination Webinar, sharing our experiences with the DI community. We have attended so many workshops, learned so many skills, and just wanted to share what helped push us forward in DI.
School Supply Fundraising
Throughout October, The Breaking BEARriers Club partnered with CityServe and The Rotary Club to raise money in order to buy school supplies for families who are struggling financially during the pandemic.
Fertile Groundworks Mural Painting
Finishing right before the rain season, Breaking BEARriers painted a mural for Fertile Groundworks.
Holiday Helpers
Breaking BEARriers club members volunteered at Second Harvest to pack and distribute Thanksgiving food boxes to those in need.
Socks for Seniors
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it is more and more difficult to get together with family to celebrate such a wonderful time of year. This is when we stumbled upon Socks for Seniors, a project brought forth by Cheryl Dickinson, Social Service Coordinator at Ridge View Commons. We raised over $400 to buy blankets, socks, hats, and other warm accessories for the seniors so they could also celebrate the holidays. Along with clothing and blankets, we also made over 200 cards for the residents of Ridge View Commons.
Christmas Toy Drive
Breaking BEARriers collected and donated toys for disadvantaged families across the Bay Area
Cards For Teachers
Breaking BEARriers club members made over 200 holiday cards for teachers throughout the Dublin Unified School District.
2021
Blankets for the Homeless
Breaking BEARriers donated several quilts, blankets, and sleeping bags to the homeless communities of the Bay Area to help them survive cold winter nights.
Book Collection Drive
Breaking BEARriers partnered with the Children’s Book Project to collect and donate over 1000 books to families impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mother’s Day Fundraiser
To celebrate loved ones, Breaking BEARriers sold pastry boxes with sweet treats to enjoy with family while supporting our club and what we do. The money we raised went directly to the Book Collection Drive and Africa Library Project.
Battery Collection Drive
Due to the heavily harmful effects of incorrectly disposed batteries, Breaking BEARriers hosted a battery collection drive, collecting several hundred dead batteries for recycling.
India Covid Help
Seeing the serverity of the COVID-19 outbreak in India, Breaking BEARriers partnered with INDIA COVID SOS and collected CPaP/BiPaP machines througout the Bay Area to be repurposed into ventilators and sent to those in need.
Breaing BEARriers Summer Classes
Breaking BEARriers’ offically started its tutoring program. 15 different classes were available, each with curriculum designed by our amazing tutors. We also offered direct homework help, where students can ask any schoolwork related questions 3 times a week.
DI Camp
Breaking BEARriers founding members hosted a DI Camp to help other teams learn about vital DI skills needed to have a successful team.
Christmas Shoeboxes
All throughout November, Breaking BEARriers partnered with Samaritans’s Purse and collected money and toys to donate. Breaking BEARriers raised $200 and used this to fill 22 shoeboxes with small gifts.
Breaking BEARriers Award Ceremony
Breaking BEARriers hosted its first-ever club award ceremony, where the certificates for the Presidential Volunteer Service Award were distributed to those that met the requirements. Awards were presented by City of Dublin mayor Melissa Hernadez. Breaking BEARriers also donated $1000 to the Rotary Foundation to support the One City One Book initiative.
Blankets for the Homeless
Breaking BEARriers collected and donates several items of clothing, sleeping bags, blankets, quilts, backpacks, and toothbrushes to the homeless.

Covid Test Kit Assembly Project
Collaborating with Predicine, Breaking BEARriers assembled COVID-19 testing kits.
Bicycle Assembly Project
Breaking BEARriers partnered with the Tri-Valley Seek and Save to assemble and give away 74 bicycles to underprivileged families.
Bake Sale Fundraiser
Breaking BEARriers organized a bake sale in order to raise funds for the African Library Project.
